This CD finally came together after I
spoke to Liz Masterson in Arvada in 2007. She lined me up with
Butch Hause, and away we went. Liz also knocked out some harmony.
Butch's engineering and production magic
is here. He wiggles a slide, turns a knob and all at once the sound is
right. He makes a phone call, another musician comes in and lays down
tracks; then he plays bass and guitar on it too.
-
Ernie Martinez added banjo,
mandolin, and dobro to this project. I think you could tie a thread to a
stick and he'd make it sound good.
-
Jon Chandler, harmonica player
"extra-ordinaire." Amazing!
-
Hanna Alkire sat down with her
cello and carried me away on a tune of mine I've sung for years.
-
Sarah Lincoln sang harmony
simply, sweetly, and right on the money.
-
Gordan Burt carried in his
fiddle, messed with the tunes, then Boom! Butch and I looked at each
other and said, "He's warmed up."
-
Chris Kennison
brought his "frying pan" Hawaiian steel guitar and a ukelele and
proceeded to cook with both.
-
John Magnie squeezed and
tickled his accordion to perfection.
-
Scott Wilseck, "The Perfessur,"
knocked the whey out of the keyboard.
What a group of professionals!
Catherine encouraged me every step of the way. See why I call her
Sweetheart?
